Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- Your data is stored locally on your device using SQLite database technology.
- Sensitive information, including authentication tokens and credentials, is stored using platform-specific secure storage mechanisms (Flutter Secure Storage) that utilize:

- Encrypted SharedPreferences (Android)
- Encrypted storage with platform-native encryption
- Email addresses and other sensitive user data stored locally are encrypted using AES-256 encryption before storage in the local database.
Cloud Storage
- When you sign in with a cloud account, your data is automatically synchronized with our secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon.
- All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS protocols.
- Data stored in our cloud database is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption methods.
- We implement multiple layers of security, including:
- Access controls and authentication

Offline Functionality
- BreathApplyser is designed to work offline. Your data is stored locally first, ensuring functionality even without internet connectivity.
- When you reconnect to the internet, data is synchronized securely with our cloud database if you have signed in.
Data Retention
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.
- If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
- You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings or by contacting us directly.
- Local data on your device is deleted immediately when you uninstall the App or clear app data through your device settings.

We do NOT sell, trade, rent, or otherwise monetize your personal information to third parties. We respect your privacy and are committed to keeping your data secure.

- Delete your account from our systems
- Remove all your personal data from our cloud database (within 30 days)
- Delete all local data stored on your device (immediately upon deletion)
- Partial Deletion: You can delete individual drink entries or modify your profile information at any time through the App.

- Notification Preferences: You can enable or disable notifications, including reminders and summaries, through the app settings.
- Data Synchronization: You can control cloud synchronization. If you disable sync, your data will only be stored locally on your device.
- Offline Mode: You can use the App entirely offline if you choose not to create a cloud account.

Important: This app provides BAC estimates for informational and educational purposes only. BAC calculations are estimates and may not be accurate for all individuals. Factors such as metabolism, food consumption, medications, and health conditions can affect actual BAC levels.
Never use this app to determine if you are safe to drive or operate machinery. Always err on the side of caution and never drink and drive. If you have consumed alcohol, use a designated driver or alternative transportation.
